Neil Patrick Harris Not Looking to Host American Idol

Neil Patrick Harris is shooting down rumors that he's itching to replace host Ryan Seacrest on American Idol. 

"I found that out too, online," Harris said during an appearance on Access Hollywood. "I would not want to do that job at all. I'd rather be a judge on American Idol. That seems like the fun gig, where you don't have to memorize. You just sit there and watch people and say whether they're good or bad. But poor Seacrest has to read that little teleprompter thing." 

Speculation on the possible need to replace Seacrest stems from news of the popular host's soon-to-be launched TV network and rumors that he may be in line to replace Matt Lauer on the Today show.
