It’s been awhile since we heard about the drama between Fox’s Empire and Power on Starz. And now the star of Power is speaking out about the alleged beef between the two shows.

The issues sparked thanks to none other than Power creator, rapper 50 Cent. He first accused the Empire team of stealing his ideas for Power.

But he did recognize that, considering Empire is on a major network, the stars would get more shine, and apologized to Power star Omari Hardwick that the same wouldn’t happen for him.

Hardwick responded and told Hip Hollywood Tuesday, “I knew what he was getting at…He is and has been a real, real advocate for me to embrace all of that stuff in me…The power in me, running away from it, tucking it in…taking my chain of gift and talent and putting it inside…There were moments and scenes I wasn’t showing it the way he felt.”

Hardwick said he was surprised that 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, offered up an apology publicly.

“I feel like it was his apology to a man who he has said, ‘I need you to be challenged the same way I’m challenging these people. Now I want the world to embrace what I think our show is. I’m way more about team than Omari.

As for being compared to Empire, Hardwick said there’s room for everyone.

“We’re on Starz…We’re not on Fox every night…no disrespect to Empire, but we deserve recognition as well. I thought it was one of his most mature moves."
