A renewal for Nashville isn't looking too bright at the moment.

'Nashville' Actor Is Making 'As Much Headway' As Possible

While nothing is guaranteed just yet, it turns out that the ABC country drama has not been picked up for an early renewal. It's possible that good news on a potential fifth season might happen sometime soon, but a cancellation announcement might happen as well.

According to Thursday's report from Deadline, a number of other popular shows on ABC have been picked up for a new season. Some of these shows include Scandal, Marvel's Agents of Shield, Modern Family, Dancing With the Stars and America's Funniest Home Videos.

Castle, Agent Carter and The Muppets, however, may not be so lucky.

In a previous report from Entertainment Weekly, network boss Paul Lee said there are no plans to let Nashville go off the air- although this could change under the circumstances.

"We don't have any plans to finish Nashville," Lee said at the Television Critics Associations' press tour. "We have an incredibly passionate audience. The Nashville audience grows by a large amount in our delay viewings. No, at this point, no plans for Nashville other than to keep it going."

As for how the remainder of the series will go, Deacon and Rayna are getting ready to tie the knot, a day that has been anticipated pretty much since the first episode.

Nashville airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
