One might think that Heidi Montag is suffering from a substance abuse issue based on her latest reality TV appearance, but it appears that may not be the case.

Heidi Montag Shows Love For Spencer Pratt With Artistic Image

On Monday, Radar Online posted details from Montag, herself, where she explained her behavior on the new Lifetime series The Mother/Daughter Experiment: Celebrity Edition where she had "a shot" before entering the house and even threw up before dinner. Her attitude wasn't that helpful either when she gave the therapist a hard time after giving a speech to the attendees in the house.

But Montag claims she does not have a serious problem since she's not even a hard drinker.

"I hardly drink in real life," she told the site. "I didn't have food or water that day so obviously I didn't handle it the best. That was certainly my lowest point in the house."

Considering that Montag's mother, Darlene Egelhoff, is on the show with her, the mom thought her daughter might have an issue since she is an addiction counselor.

"That's what she studies and lives," Montag explained. "She is also concerned with her career going on the show. She wants to make it clear, 'I'm an addiction counselor.'"

The mother and daughter faced issues before on former reality series The Hills when Egelhoff criticized her daughter over her plastic surgery. This is one of the reasons for Montag's strange behavior on the Lifetime show.

"Last time I was on TV with my mom, that was the breaking point in our relationship," she said. "I was just a little too nervous and drank a little too much."
