90s girls who still feel obligated to belt it out whenever they hear a classic song from their favorite boy band the Backstreet Boys playing are about to start planning some big trips to Las Vegas now that the group has signed on to a trial run residency deal in the city.

Nick Carter confirmed that he, Brian Littrell, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough and A.J. McLean have signed a deal for a trial residency at the screening of his new movie Dead7 last week, and they will be doing at least nine shows there before deciding if they wanted to commit to a more long-term deal similar to those that Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez have at Planet Hollywood and Caesars, respectively.

"If it does really well, then I think that'll open that door and then in the future we'll do it," he told Entertainment Tonight. "So that's definitely going to happen but we're going to do a trial run first."

The news comes just one month before the band celebrates a big anniversary, as May will mark 20 years since their first album dropped in 1996.

Richardson also confirmed the news at the event and even spilled that they are back in the studio recording new music as well—and a world tour would come before the residency, which he believes would begin later this year and into next year.

"We're definitely in the studio recording a brand new album," he said.

Richardson also revealed the reason behind the group's decision, saying that when they saw Spears' show and talked to her about it, they felt the time was right for them to also consider making a similar move since they are all parents themselves.

"It seemed really convenient for the family," he said. "A Vegas residency, now that we're all fathers, could be very convenient for us...We don't have to travel so much."

Since they first burst on the scene, all of the members of the group have gone on to start families. Richardson and Littrell both married in 2000, and have three children between them and their wives. Dorough married his wife in 2007 and has two sons with her, while McLean has a daughter and married his wife in 2011. Carter was the last to marry in 2014, and he and wife Lauren Kitt are expecting their first child together.
