Prince’s ex-wife, Mayte Garcia (formerly of VH1’s Hollywood Exes) has been doing nothing but showing love for the late iconic singer since he tragically passed away Thursday.

Reporters caught up with Garcia outside of her L.A. Friday and fought back tears when it came to remembering Prince.

Garcia held the hand of her daughter and could only nod with a face full of tears as the reporters asked her questions. She seemed as if she tried to speak but couldn’t get words out at the time. She proceeded to cry and was able to nod and indicate she would be going to Minnesota.

Word is Prince was cremated and had a private ceremony this past Saturday. See it here via The Daily Mail.

Just hours after he was pronounced dead at his Minnesota estate, Garcia took to Instagram to make a statement.

“I can’t even think of the words of what I am feeling,” she wrote in the caption of a throwback photo of her and Prince. “This man was my everything, we had a family. I am beyond deeply saddened and devastated…”

Despite their decision to go separate ways, she made it clear, “I loved him then, I love him now, and will love him eternally...”

She then referenced the son they had, Boy Gregory Nelson, who passed away just a week after he was born back in April of 1996.

“He’s with our son now,” she wrote.

She added another photo of a bouquet of flowers with a few purple ones in there. It was always clear that Prince’s color scheme was purple.

Garcia, who has been an advocate for the prevention of animal torture, reminded fans that she and Prince were on the same page in that matter.
She shared a quote from the Purple Rain singer that reads, “We need an Animal Rights Day when all slaughterhouses shut down.”

Garcia added the caption, “Couldn’t agree more”
