Leah Messer recently updated fans on her daughter, Ali.

As fans of Teen Mom 2 know, Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy years ago and will ultimately by forced to use a wheelchair full-time, but for now, she's getting acquainted with the device while enjoying time on her feet, as well.

“She is adjusting so well to having her wheelchair,” Messer told MTV News on Monday. “She uses it at school; I’ll take it with me to Gracie’s competitions. She uses it for music, to go up stairs, to go outside and play — to feel independent. She’s so much happier. She comes home and she's like, 'Mommy, I use my wheelchair now.' She feels so good.”

While Ali had previously received a wheelchair through her insurance, the chair was deemed broken several months ago and she was forced to be without it for months. Now, however, she's back in her chair and getting used to using it in her day-to-day life.

As for what's next, Messer admitted she wasn't sure where the next couple of years would take her daughter.

"We've been given estimates on when she would need it full-time, but we don't know for sure," she explained. "Like, we have to just watch her and evaluate her because she's not the only child in the world that has this."

Either way, Messer has faith that her daughter will be just ine.

"Ali is going to be strong no matter what. That's just Ali. She's going to be fine. Gracie is going to be fine. Addie, like, they're all going to work together," she said.

With her ex-husband, Corey Simms, Messer is mom to Ali and her twin sister, Aleeah, 6, and she also has a third child, 3-year-old Adalynn, from her second marriage to Jeremy Calvert.
