Netflix has released the trailer for season 4 of Orange Is the New Black, and it looks much darker than any of the previous three seasons.

The new trailer for Orange Is the New Black season 4 emphasizes drama over anything else. While it covers a myriad of characters and upcoming plotlines, the overarching theme is danger and paranoia within the Litchfield Penitentiary.

The trailer shows hints of Piper (Taylor Schilling) being in trouble and getting into conflict with her fellow inmates. Does this have to do with the panty business she started up in season 3? Only time will tell, but it looks like she'll be going through some major drama in season 4.

There's also a scene with Alex (Laura Prepon) asking Red (Kate Mulgrew) if she can keep a secret, to which Red responds, "I love secrets."

There's also a brief glimpse of Suzanne (Uzo Aduba) lying down in a hospital gown. It's unclear if this is present day or a flashback, but either way, this can't be good.

The trailer also delves into the prison population doubling, as teased in the final moments of season 3. One of those new prisoners is Judy King (Blair Brown), the Martha Stewart-esque TV personality who was sheen in glimpses in the third season.

A rare comedic moment is shown from Judy in the trailer, where she tells Poussey (Samira Wiley), "People are always trying to desexualize women my age, and I just won't allow it!" Poussey is clearly uncomfortable and responds, "Good for you!"

Pennsatucky (Taryn Manning) concludes the trailer with a line that may sum up the theme for season 4:

"You know the difference between pain and suffering? Pain is always there. But suffering is a choice," she states.

Orange Is the New Black season 4 is set to drop Friday, June 17 on Netflix.
