American Idol judge Mariah Carey cried for the second time during season 7 due to the shocking elimination of Burnell Taylor. Taylor was voted off after he ended up in the Bottom 2 of the Top 7 results show.

Carey became so visibly upset that she turned her chair around so that the show's cameras would not record her shedding tears for the aspiring singer.

The elimination of Taylor, 19, an unemployed teenager from Louisiana, was also disturbing news for Carey's fellow judge Nicki Minaj, who seen wiping her face to keep her makeup in place. Even the other contestants broke down in tears when the loss was announced.

Despite being a favorite among the judges, Taylor was eliminated during the live show based on receiving the lowest score from 25 million public voters. Before the loss, he performed a rendition of India Arie's Ready For Love for his "save" song but it wasn't strong enough to convince the judges to pick him as their "save for the season."

Carey cried for Taylor earlier in the season during his audition when he told the judges that he lost his Louisiana home during Hurricane Katrina. His rendition of I'm Here, a song from The Color Purple soundtrack, led the judges to give him a standing ovation and Carey shed tears at the time.

Former contestants Casey James and Carrie Underwood also performed during the results show. Underwood, who won Idol eight years ago, sang her latest single You Again.

The Top 6 remaining contestants are:

Janelle Arthur

Lazaro Arbos

Amber Holcomb

Angie Miller

Candice Glover

Kree Harrison

The Top 6 will perform next week when American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 87/c on Fox.
