One of the stars of Nashville is hoping that a fifth season can happen despite cancellation.

It was announced earlier this week that the country drama will not continue after four seasons. But in a report from Entertainment Weekly, Lionsgate television group chairman Kevin Beggs said that the show could potentially wind up on a different network.

"We're looking for a new home," Beggs revealed. "We never give up on a great show."

On Twitter, a user contacted actress Aubrey Peeples, who played Layla on the show, to tell her that hopefully the series will end up on a new channel in the near future.

Peeples responded with, "Me too."

If the series does end up on a new network, it's doubtful it'll come to a big place like NBC or CBS, but perhaps, it could go to Hulu since previous seasons can be watched there. DirecTV, Epix and country channel CMT may also be in consideration.

Connie Britton, who played Rayna, took to Instagram to announce how proud she is to have been part of such an amazing TV show.

"I'd just like to say it's been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it," Britton wrote. "Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show."
