May has reached its midway point, and Microsoft has decided to update its lineup for the free games under the tech giant's Xbox Games with Gold membership. Though a couple of great titles which were initially offered during the month were removed by the tech giant, Microsoft has nonetheless replaced them with two titles that are both fun and engaging.

When the month began, two of the free games for Xbox Games with Gold members included the intense racing game, Grid 2 and the equally intense Sunset Overdrive. As much as these two games are great, however, they have been pulled out of the free games list as of May 15, being replaced by two other titles, Costume Quest 2 and Peggle.

Thus, here are the games currently being offered for free, at least until June starts.

Defense Grid 2

Defense Grid 2 has been included in the lineup since May started. Normally, this intense, beautifully rendered tower defense game is priced at a pretty reasonable $15. The game is still available for free for Xbox Games with Gold members.

Costume Quest 2

This Halloween-themed RPG is normally priced at $15, but from May 16 to June 15, this game would be offered for free for Xbox Games with Gold members. Costume Quest 2 centers on two kids saving Halloween from hygiene-obsessed bad guys. With lots of sugar, color and freaky fun, Costume Quest 2 promises a lot of hours of addictive gaming for everyone.

Peggle

Available for free instead of the usual $10, Peggle is this month's free classic title. The game is only offered free from May 16-31 too, so for gamers who love puzzle games with a lot of colors and bouncy balls, this game must not be missed.

Though May has gone through its halfway mark, Microsoft has not announced the free games lineup for June. Then again, considering the free titles Microsoft has been giving away as of late, there is a pretty good chance that June's lineup would be pretty great as well.
