Hamster Raises From Dead: 2-Year-Old Rodent Diggs Itself Out From Grave on 'Good Friday'
A hamster in Painswick, England "raised from the dead" over Easter weekend, more specifically on "Good Friday," according to the Stroud News and Journal.
The two-year-old hamster, Tink, was reportedly found "lifeless" in her cage as it was being taken care of by a couple Lisa Kilbourne-Smith, 23, and her boyfriend James Davis, 24. The animal was reportedly "cold" and "stiff," according to the report.
They reportedly wrapped the pet in a paper towel and buried it one foot below the surface in a flower bed.
But the animal apparently digged itself back up to the surface and was found by the father of Lisa in the back garden..
Because of the timing of her "ressurrection," the hamster's owners are starting to call her "Jesus," according to the Stroud News and Journal.
"We've nicknamed her Jesus because it was Easter when she came back from the dead," Les, a 60-year-old neighbor told the paper.
"It's amazing that she survived," he added.
The animal, veterinarians explain, could just have been in a state of hibernation.
