The new arc of Dragon Ball Super starts in a couple of days, and fans of the massive franchise are more hyped than ever. With a new storyline that seems as dark as it is intense, the return of Future Trunks is one event that would most probably herald one of the greatest conflicts ever in Dragon Ball history.

Of course, in an arc as massive as the upcoming story, and with a villain as insane as Black Goku, there is a huge chance that  some of the franchise's main characters would not make it out of the conflict alive. Indeed, deaths have happened in the Dragon Ball universe multiple times in the past, but this time around, since the gods of the Universe are already involved, the death of a character might actually be final.

From what could be deduced from the teaser trailer and from Future Trunks' design in the new arc, it would appear like his mother, the genius inventor Bulma, would die in the upcoming episodes, most probably by the hands of Black Goku. This speculation is rooted in the fact that Future Trunks seems to be wearing a battered red scarf that might very well be the same one Bulma has worn in the past.

Apart from Bulma, there are also speculations that Goku himself would die in the upcoming arc. Indeed, with the possibility that Future Trunks is actually traveling back to the past in order to kill Goku before he turns into an unstoppable evil force, there is indeed a very real possibility that Goku would die once more.

Of course, the fact that Black Goku is confirmed to be wearing a Potara earring also suggests the notion that he would be traveling to the past in order to merge with Goku, absorbing his power and becoming even stronger.

And yet, these are all but speculations. But if there is one thing that definitely could be deduced from the teaser trailer of Dragon Ball Super Episode 47, it is the fact that in this arc, the stakes are very high, and there will be casualties.
