While IMAX versions of movies often feel like a way for studios to squeeze more money from your wallet, Paramount Pictures will be releasing filming five of their upcoming titles in the format as part of an ongoing agreement with IMAX.

In an announcement at CinimaCon, the studio revealed that both Christopher Nolan's Interstellar and Michael Bay's Transformers 4 will be filmed with IMAX cameras. While many films find their way on to the oversized screens, not all are shot with the company's cameras, reports Reuters.

"IMAX is among the greatest ways to experience a movie," said Rob Moore, vice chairman of Paramount Pictures, according to Film Journal. "Working with today's top filmmakers, we look forward to bringing audiences the most exciting new movies with the very best presentation for years to come."

The immersive experience of IMAX makes blockbuster action flicks an ideal candidate for the company to go after. According to Deadline, parts of The Dark Knight and the Dark Night Rises were captured on IMAX cameras while Bay is not a stranger to the equipment.

"We're thrilled and honored to once again team up with our longtime partners Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay," said Richard L. Gelfond, CEO of IMAX, according to Film Journal. "We can't wait to showcase their vision to IMAX fans around the world."
