Linda Cardellini recently admitted that she was disappointed about one aspect of Bloodline's second season.

Cardellini, who plays Meg Rayburn on the Florida Keys drama, wished she could have shared the screen with Ben Mendelsohn's Danny in season 2.

The actress spoke about this in a new interview with Deadline, saying, "We knew Danny would be back [in Season 2], and in what capacity, we weren't entirely sure." Discussing how she did not share any scenes with Mendelsohn in season 2, she said, "I was so disappointed. I wish that Meg could have had some scenes with Danny."

Of course, Danny died at the end of the first season, appearing either in flashbacks or as a specter to haunt John (Kyle Chandler) in season 2. Because his screen time was limited, Mendelsohn only appeared with a few other cast members in season 2.

"I don't think [Danny's death] is used just as a device," Cardellini said. "John is so terrorized by his own conscience. He has been his entire life, and Danny's been a big part of that, so getting into that gives greater insight into how he's held hostage by all of these events that happened between him and his brother. When that one person is gone who caused all of the trouble in the family, and the family still manages to implode, what does that mean about you, and how you grew up? What does that mean about the truth of who and what you are?"

Cardellini also discussed why she's looking forward to the third season of Bloodline, which still has yet to be announced by Netflix. She discussed the final moments of season 2 with Meg getting ready to spill everything to Sally (Sissy Spacek) and not knowing what might be next.

"I have no idea the next sentence that they'll write for what Meg says, if it picks up where it left off," she said. "I think it's a moment of truth for her, but at the same time, that could be written in 100 different ways. I can't wait to see if and how my mother gets brought into the truth, and what that says for all of our relationships and alliances."

The first two seasons of Bloodline are available to stream on Netflix.
