During last night's big win at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, Michael Phelps was seen giving a kiss to his son, Boomer, and in the stands cheering him on was his fiancee, Nicole Johnson.

As Phelps continues to collect gold medals during ongoing events, details about who Johnson is and what her relationship with Phelps has been like have surfaced.

According to a report by Bustle, Johnson, a former Miss USA contestant and one-time Miss California, is the Director of Communication for Sales & Training at The Yellow Pages, where she's been employed since 2014. Before that, Johnson worked as an account manager at a restaurant app start-up.

As for her romance with Phelps, it has reportedly been a bumpy road -- at least at times.

"The 2010 Miss California USA, who welcomed son Boomer Robert with Phelps in May, has been dating the world’s most decorated Olympian on and off since 2007. And while the couple hit a few road bumps along the way — a breakup in 2011 and Phelps’ DUI bust three years later — the pair got back together in 2014 before getting engaged in February 2015," the New York Post reported on Wednesday.

Following last night's win, Johnson took to Instagram and shared a photo along with the caption, "I'm at an absolute loss for words. Couldn't be more proud of @m_phelps00. He is the epitome of working hard, dreaming big and achieving the all American Dream. #myfamily #20 #21 #25 #3down."
