Miley Cyrus opened up about her relationship with Liam Hemsworth in an interview with Elle U.K. and explained exactly why she is "committed" to her fiancée.

The 20-year-old talked about why she originally said yes when the Hunger Games star proposed in summer 2012.

"We have a house together and dogs. It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed," she told the magazine's June issue, out May 1. "But, we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it anymore."

Cyrus, 20, and Hemsworth, 23, got engaged in May of 2012 when he proposed with a 3.5-carat diamond ring. The couple started dating in 2009 after they starred together in The Last Song.

When rumors began to surface in March that she and Hemsworth had split up, Cyrus took to Twitter to shoot down the speculation and reveal that she would be "taking a break from social media." The former Disney star said she now prefers to keep her personal life - very private.

"We were too nice to the world and gave them too much insight - into my life and my puppies and my house - and I just don't feel they get that privilege anymore," she told Elle. "Like on my Twitter, I'm much more... not conservative, but you don't see a picture of my dogs. You don't get that personal stuff anymore."

The conversation also turned to Cyrus' musical endeavors. She recently recorded a track with Snoop Lion called Ashtrays and Heartbreaks and has been hard at work on her upcoming album, though a release date has yet to be revealed.
