Is Beast Mode headed back to his career in the NFL?

Although Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement earlier this year on Twitter as the 2015-2016 came to an end, rumors have recently claimed that the former Seattle Seahawks running back is now "up in the air" about leaving football behind and could ultimately return to the sport in a few weeks.

"Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Lynch is currently 'up in the air' about returning to the NFL. The source said that Week Four or Week Five could be the hot spots for a possible unretirement," NBC Sports revealed to readers on Thursday.

Below is Lynch's retirement tweet from February.

In response to the report, ex-Seahawks fullback Michael Robinson called Lynch on Thursday and set the record straight a short time later.

"Have I heard about Marshawn and this rumor of his return? So, I got on a plane yesterday and when I got off the plane I had 25 texts and 30 voicemails talking about one of my good friends, Beast Mode, returning to the National Football League. So you know what I did -- I called Beast Mode," Robinson said in a TMZ Sports video clip on Friday.

"Marshawn Lynch is retired. He told me from his own mouth. He told me, 'Dude, I'm not going anywhere. I'm as busy as I've ever been.' He's in Africa, he's in Australia, he's all over the world helping people all over this world and you talk about somebody making a difference, that guy really is."
