Liam Hemsworth's brothers have staged an intervention for him in order for him to break up with Miley Cyrus.

The new US Weekly reports that Chris and Luke Hemsworth tried to force a break up between their younger brother and the singer. They forced the issue in April. They do not want to see their brother marry Cyrus nor do they even want him still involved with the 20 -year old.

"They want him to end the romance for good," a source said.

The edict of his brother's may have had some effect on the couple. It was reported in April that Hemsworth and Cyrus were postponing their engagement. They were no longer in a rush to get married.

"They're still engaged and living together," source said. "They just realized that there is no rush with the wedding and that it's better that they wait a bit."

Cyrus and Hemsworth became engaged in June of 2012. At the time, the Hannah Montana actress could not contain her happiness. She released a statement in which she remarked that she could not wait to start a life with him. By March of 2013, the couple was experiencing problems in their relationship. Hemsworth was accused of cheating on the young star with January Jones and Cyrus began to step out without her engagement ring. Cyrus took to Twitter to deny any discord.

"I am so sick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it," she posted. "I didn't call off my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining"

During this time, Hemsworth took off for his native Australia. He spent time with his family.  Sources close to the Hunger Games actor said that the two reached their breaking point during this period.

"Yeah, they are pretty much done," a source said.

Cyrus further fueled speculation that her relationship with Hemsworth was not as strong as it once was. In an interview with V for their June cover article, she repeatedly referred to Hemsworth as her boyfriend. She also said that her album was the top priority in her life.

"I put this record before everything, and I've never done that with anything," she said." I've put too much into this record to put anything else in front of it."
