Joe Flacco slid awkwardly in an attempt to make a first down during Sunday afternoon's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but did the Baltimore Ravens quarterback injure himself during the play?

With Thursday Night Football fast approaching, fans are wondering whether or not Flacco will be starting as usual and luckily for fans of the University of Delaware alum, it doesn't look like his awkward slide did much damage.

In a new interview, coach John Harbaugh spoke of the ugly play, which resulted in Flacco breaking his knee brace -- not injuring his knee.

“I saw the brace mangled beyond recognition,” Harbaugh said, according to a report by CSN. “I was just hoping the knee underneath it was fine, which it was. That’s all that went through my mind – how is the knee? I even said to him, `How is the knee?’ when he was coming off. He kind of just didn’t say anything, he just went to the locker room. I didn’t feel great about that. Then, when he came back out, he was alright.”

Once he arrived to the tunnel, medical staff handed Flacco a backup brace and he quickly returned to the game.

“It was stuck in a bent position, so I couldn’t play and I couldn’t move,” Flacco said. I just said, ‘Gotta get out, I gotta get down to the tunnel and get a new one.”’

Although Flacco was able to make a prompt return, his teammates didn't like the look of his slide.

“That was the worst slide known to mankind,” said wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. “A few guys thought – I’m not going to say who – that it wasn’t the knee brace that bent, but that it was his leg. But Joe is smooth.”

“I was still scared, because I saw when he slid,” Mike Wallace added. “I’m like man, that’s one of the ugliest slides I’ve ever seen.”
