Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has been craving spicy foods, as revealed during a visit to her parents' home in April.

The royal stopped by a convenience store in Upper Bucklebury, Berkshire, where she ordered a vegetarian curry dish. She talked about liking curry at the shop, owned by Hash and Chan Shingadia.

"My wife made her curry a little while ago which she enjoyed," said Hash, according to The Hollywood Gossip. "I think she came in one day and my wife was cooking upstairs. She said it smelled lovely, so we gave her some to take away."

Many customers order a lamb or chicken curry dish but since Chan is vegetarian, she said she only cooks vegetarian Curry.

An excess of spicy food is known to cause heartburn for pregnant women, but Middleton has been treating herself in moderation.

The duchess revealed on Sunday that the baby is due July 13, falling during the Coronation Festival, a four-day celebration honoring 60 years since Queen Elizabeth took over the monarchy. Since the celebration occurs from July 11 to July 14, the royal will probably not be able to attend.

The baby will be welcomed into the world in the same place Prince William was born, in the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington.
