The "Twilight" movie sequel is in the plans of Lionsgate Productions in the near future. Now that the idea is being mulled over, news that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder will star in the film has surfaced.

Last year, Lionsgate Productions relayed plans of making more films in the "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games" franchises. After all, the movies under the said novels were huge at the box office.

According to Peter Wachsberger, co-chairman of the film outfit, if Stephanie Mayer comes up with a great story concept for the sequel, Lionsgate will definitely produce the movie. At that time, fans speculated the sequel may focus on the life of Renesmee Cullen, the daughter of Bella and Edward.

In addition, when the news broke, Robsten fans rejoiced with the possibility of a reunion for former lovers, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. It will be their chance to see the ex-couple back together again, even if it will just be in a film.

However, it might be adifferent ex-lovers that avid "Twilight" aficionados will see reunited. Dobrev and Somerhader from "The Vampire Diaries" are now being rumored to play the Cullen couple, previously played by Stewart and Pattinson, said the INQUISTR.

The "Café Society" star mentioned she is open to the idea of reprising her role as Bella but also said that it will not affect her emotionally. In case KStew turns down the offer to work on the sequel, Dobrev is more than happy to give life to the character.

Rumors are alleging that the former TVD star is in the hunt for good film roles. Dobrev struggles to find one ever since she left the CW vampire series. Playing Bella will surely improve her career. It was even said in a report that the Canadian actress auditioned for a role in the initial "Twilight" film.

Regarding Edward Cullen's character, there is a gossip going around that RPatts is actually interested to get back to the role. A source revealed that the English actor has been struggling to get back on track after the vampire films were over. This is why, playing Edward again can make Pattinson's career shine once more.

In case Lionsgate goes for a new actor to play the sparkling vampire's role, Somerhalder may be a top contender. This is based on fans' perspectives. The Canadian actor has no known projects after he wraps up filming the final episodes of "The Vampire Diaries."
