Amazon Prime is slashing its yearly price by $20, but for one day only.

The $99 price tag for one year of Amazon Prime can be a daunting one for some, but you can purchase a subscription for $79 on Friday. Benefits of being a Prime member include access to thousands of hours of content, including top movies, original series like Transparent, The Man in the High Castle and Bosch, streaming through Amazon Music and free two-day shipping.

Amazon is reducing the price in conjunction with the release of its new original series, The Grand Tour. The series centers on original Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May as they travel the world.

"A show about adventure, excitement and friendship... as long as you accept that the people you call friends are also the ones you find extremely annoying. Sometimes it's even a show about cars. Follow them on their global adventure," says the Amazon plot description.

The tour includes stops on Los Angeles, Nashville, South Africa, England, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Scotland and the United Arab Emirates.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said that the deal for the series with the three Top Gear presenters was "very, very, very expensive," for the company. "They're worth a lot and they know it. ... I think we're in a golden age of television, so if you go back in time even just five years, you couldn't get A-list talent to do TV serials, or, if you could, it was a rare thing. But that's flipped completely."

The Grand Tour premieres Friday on Amazon Video in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria and Japan. Episodes will drop on a weekly basis from there. Other countries will receive the series in December.
