Nina Dobrev throws a shade at her The Vampire Diaries team as she shared a new poster of xXx: Return Of Xander Cage.

A few days back it had come out that fans of The Vampire Diaries have threatened to boycott the show if Nina Dobrev does not return to the show. Look like the Bulgarian actress is in no mood to come back as she seems to find the supernatural drama team not good enough.

Nina Dobrev recently took to Instagram to share the new poster of her upcoming film xXx: Return Of Xander Cage and captioned it with a statement that appears to throw shade at The CW show. She said, "Now that's a team I can work with."

Since Dobrev's post made it to social media, fans have been conjecturing if it was targeted at The Vampire Diaries team. One fan even asked if it was a shade, leading another to say that he was thinking the same thing and also stated that her statement was hurtful. A third fan wondered if The Vampire Diaries team was not working out.

However, Dobrev did not reply to any of these comments and therefore, it seems more probable that she was indirectly referring to The CW show cast mates.

So, does that mean the 27-year-old actress will not be returning for The Vampire Diaries Season 8, which is also the final season? Does it mean Delena fans will not get to see their favorite couple on screen? Well, the chances seem less. Nevertheless, all hope is not lost as producer Julie Plec has said that she earnestly wants Dobrev to come back.

What is more, some days back she spoke about the mysterious death of Georgie and its similarity with that of Katherine's death. She admitted that the visual similarities were not accidental, thereby, giving strength to the rumors that Nina Dobrev would be returning as Katherine and not Elena. Still, it is not clear what would actually happen on the show.

It is worth mentioning here that The Vampire Diaries has gone on a break and will return in February next year with the second half, but it remains to be seen whether Nina Dobrev makes a comeback. Also, xXx: Return Of Xander Cage arrives in theaters on Jan. 20, 2107.
