Starz network's historical fiction drama television series, Outlander, is almost coming back on screen with the premiere of its third season next year. The network has officially announced the news on June, which made the fans more excited as they look forward for the fate of their favorite characters.

The series aired its last episode for the second season on July this year. There were a number revelations disclosed in the finale episode but still, viewers were left hanging with some unanswered questions. This time, the series assured that there will be a lot of questions answered once the third season begins airing.

Since the second season ended, there were many speculations and spoilers that have appeared online. But just recently, an additional update about the series' lead character, James 'Jamie' Fraser, portrayed by actor Sam Heughan, and other cast on the series have shared what viewers should expect in the third season.

According to a report from International Business Times, Jamie's fate will likely be determined in the upcoming season. As per the source, Jamie Fraser will continue his unfinished business through visiting the Battle of Culloden once again. It can be recalled that the lead character plays a big role on the said battle.

Moreover, fans are also reportedly looking forward on the scene between Jamie and Captain Jonathan 'Black Jack' Randall, portrayed by Tobias Menzies. It is to be found out if the British army officer will live on throughout the third season or if he will get killed by Jamie or vice versa.

Meanwhile, cast of Outlander has revealed that season 3 of the series is going to have a different location. According to Entertainment Tonight, onscreen couple, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, who portrays Jamie's love interest Claire Randall Fraser, have said in an interview that they are looking forward to film in South Africa.

Balfe mentioned that she is excited about the upcoming season and how it would affect the whole series and the fans. She said that she's glad that the whole team is going to be in a new place and added that it's going to be fun.

Heughan on the other hand had said that he is proud of what the series have become and will continue to give his best shot to offer the audience and fans a more engaging character to look forward to.

Outlander season 3 is scheduled to air on 2017.
