Niantic Lab recently released a patch to its well-known creation Pokemon GO which also speculated to indicate that Gen 2's launch is forthcoming. The said upgrade brings evolution items, new moves, and new Pokemon.

According to International Business Times, the game developer Niantic Lab launched the latest update to the game on Wednesday. Also, it was noted that Pokemon GO users will possibly have a lot to look forward to this year. The application code indicated that Niantic Lab has arranged the foundation for a handful of significant upgrades.

With the said new patch, the Pokemon GO has added numerous progressive evolution items into the game's code. Specific items are comprised of the Sun Stone, King's Rock, Metal Coat, Dragon Scale and Up-Grade. In the game, certain Pokemon can utilize these items to evolve into more advanced forms. References for the Pokemon Unown and its numerous forms were also found in the update code. It was noted that Unown is a later-generation Pokemon who takes on various forms comparable to the Latin alphabet.

Furthermore, Forbes reported that the Pokemon GO upgrade data has shown 38 new moves that have been added behind the scenes to the game. This also includes a large number specifically learned by Gen 2 Pokémon. Some of the new quick moves are the Iron Tail, Hex, and Slash, and new charge-up moves like Crunch, Zap Cannon and Mirror Coat. The effect is that these are being put into the game in advance of the release of the actual Pokemon themselves. But then, another piece of the Gen 2 puzzle which is coming together rather fast.
