AMC's most-watched zombie apocalypse serial horror drama, The Walking Dead, is coming back next month to continue airing its seventh season on televisions. Several updates and speculations regarding how the characters will end up this season have been talked online and fans definitely can't wait to find out.

The midseason premiere aired on December last year did not end up well as the villain Negan, portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, had once again ordered to kill not one but two of the Alexandrians again. Fans of the drama series voiced out their frustrations at the end of the episode, saying the show is trying to put the villain in the center stage.

However, main actor Andrew Lincoln, who portrays central character, Rick Grimes, explained why the writers had to kill another characters yet again. On an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lincoln shared that he had felt the sentiments of the fans right after watching the hearbreaking and gruesome midseason finale last year.

"This season made a lot more sense once we got the last role of film in the can for episode 716", the actor told the publication. He also said that it was also painful for him and the other cast members to film even during the first part of the season. Nevertheless, he insisted that the story line of the episodes and the plot for the season will get better and will be worth the heartache.

The writers were just reportedly letting the fans feel that the Alexandrias really wanted justice and that they will eventually get it after passing through adversities with the Saviors and their leader Negan, and other characters that get in their way.

He additionally said that they have been preparing for something that the fans can refer to as brave, bold and a challenging story. From this, it has been speculated that season 7B will finally show some scenarios where Rick Grimes and company will fight against Negan and the Saviors and will succeed this time. Fans also hope this could finally happen.

However, even though this could happen, according to Comic Book, it will not be far long until the crew will have their new enemy - The Whisperers. According to the source, they will be introduced in one of the episodes of this season and will add to the worries of Rick and company.

Episode 9 of The Walking Dead season 7, with the title "Rock in the Road", will premiere on February 12, 2017 on AMC.
