Miguel lashed out at on Twitter Monday, labeling African Americans as the most judgmental people in the world.

In a series of tweets, the R&B singer declared that Blacks had been conditioned to hate themselves. In the early morning hours, he began to make his comments, seemingly unprompted.

"Im proud of my heritage but honestly, black people are the most judgmental people in the world. Sh-ts sad man. we've been conditioned, pre-programmed to hate ourselves. that's why I appreciate those who choose to think and act for themselves regardless of ethnicity or culture," he tweeted.

The #Beautiful singer, who is of African American and Mexican descent, elaborated further on his perceptions later on in the day with another tweet. It appeared he tried to backpedal from his previous sweeping generalizations.

"The problem can not be fixed until the problem is recognized. Not everyone is the same thank goodness. And obviously, I love all my fans," he tweeted.

The offense Miguel may have caused Monday is the latest controversy he has found himself mired in. He was roundly mocked and criticized for his appearance at the Billboard Music Awards on May 19. During his performance of Adorn, Miguel dove into the audience and accidentally gave two fans a leg drop. Miguel finished the song despite the circumstances, but sang a portion of his tune on the stage floor.

After the incident, Miguel took to Twitter and acknowledged the faux pas he committed. He was able to meet one of the injured fans.

"Got caught up in the moment, thank goodness Khyati is okay," he tweeted after the show.

Miguel also tweeted a video of Khyati smiling as she clutched an ice pack, and was visibly embarrassed. He gave a more formal response to Billboard Magazine about his leg drop which quickly went viral. He said that this was one of his least favorable moments.

"The crazy thing is, when you're performing and you're just kind of into it, you never know where it's gonna go and where you're gonna go with it, and how that might turn out," Miguel said.

Miguel added once more that he simply got caught in the moment and the victim of his leg drop said that all was forgiven. She did not harbor any ill will against the crooner.

"I adorn him," Khyati said.
