He's up for a Best Actor nominee and has a film up for Best Picture for the second year in a row, but that doesn't mean Ryan Gosling may attend the Oscars with his long-time love and the mother of his children, Eva Mendes.

The actor attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Friday, where he talked to Entertainment Tonight, and admitted he isn't sure if he'll have Mendes in attendance with him at the Academy Awards later this month, where he has the potential of scoring his first Oscar win for La La Land.

"Oh, I'm not sure," he said. "It's still a little way away."

The possibility that Mendes may not attend isn't something that would seem far-fetched for the couple, who have always maintained their privacy and often eschewed red carpets together during their relationship, a move that has led to speculation in the past about whether or not the pair were splitting up.

Most notably, Mendes not being present at the Cannes Film Festival for Gosling's directorial debut Lost River back in 2014 led to speculation, especially since she was in the film, It was later revealed that year that she hadn't been in attendance because she was pregnant with their first daughter, Esmeralda, at the time, and the couple hadn't gone public with that information yet.

Similarly, her absence when Gosling's movie The Big Short was up for the Best Picture Oscar last year was also a move which raised eyebrows, though again, she was secretly pregnant, this time with their daughter Amada.
