Adele won the Grammy for Album of the Year at Sunday night's ceremony, but it was clear she didn't think she deserved it.

Adele won Album of the Year for her album 25, beating out the likes of Justin Bieber for Purpose, Drake for Views and Sturgill Simpson for A Sailor's Guide to Earth. But most importantly, she beat out one the most significant pop culture events of the year: Beyoncé's Lemonade.

The second it was announced that Adele had won Album of the Year she seemed to have mixed emotions. The songstress spoke about 25 helping her overcome some personal stress in her life in the wake of her pregnancy, but the bulk of her speech was directed at Beyoncé and Lemonade.

"I can't possibly accept this award, and I'm very humble and I'm very grateful and gracious but my artist of my life is Beyoncé," Adele stated, with tears in her eyes. "This album to me, the 'Lemonade' album, was just so monumental, Beyoncé, it was so monumental and so well-thought-out and so beautiful and soul-bearing and we all got to see another side to you that you don't always let us see and we appreciate that."

Beyoncé was emotional herself as Adele was speaking, saying "thank you Adele" and "I love you."

"All us artists here we f---ing adore you," Adele continued. "You are our light. And the way you made me and my friends feel, the way you made my black friends feel is empowering and you make them stand up for themselves and I love you."

Adele continued her feelings with thinking Beyoncé deserved to win backstage, even calling into question the Grammy voters' decision.

"I felt like it was her time to win. My view is what the f- does she have to do to win Album of the Year?" she told reporters backstage. "That's also how I feel. I felt this album - I said this earlier - I felt this album was a different side of her that we haven't seen. I felt blessed to be brought into that situation. Obviously the visual is very new and the Grammys are very traditional, but I thought this would be the year they went with the tides."

Adele's Album of the Year victory is her second at the tender age of 28. She won in 2012 for her massive 21 album, which spawned such hits as "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You". For 25, Adele won four other Grammys in addition to Album of the Year, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Pop Solo Performance for "Hello" and Pop Vocal Album for 25.
