Taylor Swift Rhode Island House Angers Neighbors When It Limits Access To BeachGoers [VIDEO]
Ever since Taylor Swift bought a $17 million mansion on a beach in Watch Hill, R.I. on April 28, neighbors have been complaining about the changes that have come about since she moved in.
“Now that summer has come and people are ready to use the beach, people are really grumbling about having Taylor in town,” said a source, based on a Friday report. “Her property line is at the path to the public beach and she always has guards patrolling the area. It’s making it such a hassle.”
Radar Online reported that local teens and surfers used to hang out at a spot on Swift's property, but the source said, “Her guards are always asking them to leave.”
A stalker was arrested for swimming up to her beach house earlier this month. The swimmer had allegedly swam two miles to meet the singer and was charged with misdemeanor willful trespass. However, this doesn't prevent locals from begrudging Swift's move and the tightened security.
“If she wanted privacy, she shouldn’t have bought a house overlooking a public beach!” said the source.
Angry fans took to Twitter this week, with one fan posting, “Taylor swift picked the house right next to the public beach. Not smart move." Another angry neighbor wrote, "Hey @taylorswift13 Tell your guards to stop harassing people who have hung out on the beach wall for years."
