Portia de Rossi has received criticism from media outlets and fans alike that the actress has had plastic surgery.

With new episodes of the cult Fox comedy Arrested Development officially streaming on Netflix on Sunday, many fans pointed out that something looked different about de Rossi's face.

Some of the tweets included:

"I don't get why Netflix spent all this much money on CGI morphing effects for Portia De Rossi's face."

"Wow Portia de Rossi's forehead. And entire face."

"Is that really Portia de Rossi on Arrested Development? Or a look-alike talking mannequin?"

De Rossi made her first appearance in the show's fourth season in episode 3, titled Indian Takers. The actress plays materialistic activist Lindsay Bluth Fünke.  Wearing a thick blonde wig, the actress's forehead appeared to be smoother than usual.

Dailymail noted on Friday, "Her face as well appears to be transformed, her cheekbones pronounced as the skin on her forehead and cheeks looks flawless, sparking speculation of a brow lift, Botox, implants and even a rhinoplasty."

Despite the accusations, another reason for her altered look could be that Arrested Development has been off the air for seven years and the actress hasn't acted in anything mainstream since then, aside from a few guest spots.

De Rossi has battled with body image problems since she was young. She revealed in her 2010 memoir Unbearable Lightness that she had an eating disorder earlier in her career, surviving off of 300 calories per day.

Since then, De Rossi has adopted a vegan lifestyle, choosing healthier choices to look thin.

"The trick for me turning 40 was to really evaluate what I wanna do with this next phase in my life," the actress told People in April.

"The one thing I don't wanna do is chase what I looked like at 20," she said.

De Rossi has not commented on the plastic surgery claims.

The fourth season of Arrested Development debuted on Netflix on Sunday, May 26 and is currently airing in its entirity on Netflix's Watch Instantly service.  It last aired on Fox in 2006.
