Jennifer Lopez defended her controversial Britain's Got Talent performance Friday in an interview with U.K. radio station, BBC Radio 1.

The 42-year-old superstar was the target of backlash after she performed her latest single Live It Up on May 28 on the talent show. She was criticized for her pelvic-thrusting choreography while wearing a black leotard. At one point, she straddled the camera with her open legs. The performance and bodysuit had viewers filing complaints with the network who made a statement on the matter.

"If we consider the potential that the broadcasting code wasn't abided by, there is potential we would investigate," an Ofcom spokesperson said. "But it's too early to speculate."

The Ofcom is similar to the FCC in Britain but Lopez was unfazed by the criticism.

"I think people are so much raunchier than I am," Lopez said.

Lopez also defended herself from the criticism over her revealing attire. She did not understand the cause for concern since her wardrobe was similar to what other artists wear during their performances.

"I think people just like to talk. It was a bodysuit. A lot of performers wear that these days. It is standard stage clothes. I'm not going to walk down the street like that!" she said.

Lopez was also quick to point out that no one complained when she wore the same outfit at the Billboard Awards on May 19. She wore a red leotard for her performance of Live It Up. The mother of two said that all she did differently was wear the attire in black. She also claimed that there would not have been any wardrobe malfunction on her part. She insisted that she'd been wearing underwear beneath the scantily clad clothing.

"Sure, absolutely. I'm a pro -- I know what I'm doing. I would never take those types of risks or anything like that," she said.

The Selena actress added that wearing such outfits did not impede her performances. She avoided injury with her thigh high boots by wearing kneepads which protected her knees. It allowed her to dance more easily.

"I was so happy that I could wear it as I was very raw from rehearsals and I cut it open the day before," she said.
