"The Bachelorette" 2017 will be the first of its kind for the first black woman joining the show. The former "The Bachelor" star Rachel Lindsay will be the next girl of the reality dating show after JoJo Fletcher. However, it looks like she still feels a little bit of bitterness towards Nick Viall for letting her go.

Rachel Lindsay admitted that she was devastated when Nick Viall didn't choose her in the current season of "The Bachelor." In an interview with "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," "The Bachelorette" 2017 confessed that she had high hopes that she and the 36-year-old star will end up together.

Just like Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Lindsay revealed that she was also shocked when Nick Viall let her go. "I really thought that Nick and I had a really strong connection, and I was pretty heartbroken when it happened," she said (via USA Today). However, she was still thankful for being part of "The Bachelorette" 2017.

Rachel Lindsay, too, narrated that she has already moved on since then and it is actually Nick Viall's loss. Meanwhile, in an interview with Glamour, the television personality sets record for being the first black "The Bachelorette" 2017 who is already in her thirties.

Rachel Lindsay proudly said that being 30 is the new 20 as asserted by Jay-Z himself. On a question why she is still single, she explained that she is too independent for a man to handle that will be seen in "The Bachelorette" 2017. She works too much, has a strong will and it seems like she doesn't need a guy at all.

On the other hand, she disclosed that it is indeed frustrating, but she learned to enjoy it especially that she is being an inspiration to other women. "Not just being a woman, not just being the first African-American ['The Bachelorette' 2017], but being a 30-year-old career-driven woman," Rachel Lindsay continued.
