Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Jessica (Krysten Ritter) are believed to be an item when he first appeared in the first season of "Jessica Jones." And now that "Jessica Jones" Season 2 is about to return to the small screens, a lot wonder if Carl Lucas will have an appearance.

The show's producer Melissa Rosenberg talked about if there will be a possibility for Luke Cage to appear in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the showrunner revealed that the said character was not hers to "play with."

When it comes to Luke Cage, playing the character was collaborative as they were trying to include a hero from another television series. Although Melissa Rosenberg loves the idea of Carl Lucas' appearance in "Jessica Jones" Season 2, she has to respect other shows.

However, Melissa Rosenberg revealed that she is working with one of the Luke Cage writers in "Jessica Jones" Season 2. Hence, she knows how his story goes. Although it might not be relevant to the show's narrative, it is all "connected and very important.

In other "Jessica Jones" Season 2 news, the sequel is set to have a new antagonist now that Kilgrave (David Tennant) is dead in the first season. Melissa Rosenberg didn't reveal who will be the next villain yet, but it seems like there will a couple of new baddies.

Meanwhile, the first season of the web television series was aired in 2015, thus fans have been waiting for "Jessica Jones" Season 2 to come. However, it looks like it will be a long wait as it has to wait for the release of "The Defenders." The miniseries will feature an all-star cast with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist (Finn Jones).

Also, at the recent Television Critics Association press tour, Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that there will be only two Marvel television series coming this 2017. And from the looks of it, the streaming service will only air "Iron Fist" and "The Defenders." So most likely, "Jessica Jones" Season 2 may be revealed in 2018.
