The Rolling Stones have reportedly asked Adele to perform with them at two upcoming London gigs, The Sun reported Monday.

The legendary band has had some of the biggest female singers around making appearances on their tour: Mary J. Blige, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Carrie Underwood are just some of the artists to perform with the legendary rock band on their North American tour.

Now the band is looking to hook a most elusive fish for two London gigs, the Grammy award winning Rolling In The Deep singer.

British newspaper The Sun reported  that Stones singer Jagger was confident that he could get Adele at the band's Hyde Park shows on July 6 and 13, along with a newly recovered Lady Gaga, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine and British singer Paloma Faith.

A source for the newspaper claimed Adele could just make the show, with a little bit of convincing.

"It would be a massive coup, even for them, because she's been a bit reclusive since her son Angelo James was born," said the source.

"She is the name they want to announce as their special guest - and their invite should be special enough to get her out on stage."

However, a later report by the British newspaper The Guardian had both camps denying the earlier report.

Adele's publicist is quoted as saying "I have no comment on their story," while the Stones' people gave a succinct, one-word answer: "No."

If Adele did somehow make the July shows, it would be the singer's first stage performance since February's Academy Awards ceremony, where she performed her nominated James Bond theme song, Skyfall. The song went on to win an Oscar for Best Original Song.
