Has Amanda Bynes cut her parents out of her life?
According to a new report, the actress is estranged from her parents, Rick and Lynn, as she prepares for her return to acting.
"Amanda's vowed to never let them back into her life after the conservatorship. In fact, she's banned all mention of them from her life and blacklists anyone who tries to broach the subject," a source told Radar Online on Wednesday.
"But Rick and Lynn are completely heartbroken... They were always out of their depth dealing with the whims of Hollywood, which sucked up their daughter and spat her out," the source continued.
"They cling to the hope that she'll come round, but it's not looking like it will happen anytime soon. They still send her gifts and cards on her birthday but she sends them back unopened every time. She's incredibly bitter about her folks," the source added.
Bynes first announced her plans to return to acting weeks ago.
"I do miss acting and I have something surprising to tell you: I'm going to start acting again," Bynes told Hollyscoop's Diana Madison during an interview earlier this month. "I want to do TV. Maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I'm a fan of and maybe another TV show where I'm the star of it."
Bynes is also focused on another career: design.
"I've been going to school lately. Fashion school. FIDM [Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising] and I love it," she shared. "I learned how to sew. I've made patterns and I want to start a clothing line in the future."
While Bynes was once known for her erratic behavior and often accused of drug use, she is now three years sober and enjoying a more low-key life.
"I hike, I take spinning classes and I feed the homeless," she revealed.
