Despite being busy promoting his latest film World War Z, Brad Pitt made sure to spend time with his family during his recent visit to Australia.

The 49-year-old actor took his son Pax on a boat trip while in Sydney on Monday. Although the rest of his five children weren't with him, Pitt boarded a yacht, named Ghost, with Pax. See photos of the father and son outing here.

"I always thought that if I wanted to do a family, I wanted to do it big,' he told Esquire in an interview in May. "I hate it when they're gone. I hate it. Maybe it's nice to be in a hotel room for a day - 'Oh nice, I can finally read a paper' ... But then, by the next day, I miss that cacophony, all that life."

Pitt and Angelina Jolie adopted Pax, now 9, in 2007 from Vietnam. In an interview with Marie Claire in 2011, Jolie called her son "extremely wild..but he has a very, very good heart."

"You know, like those punk rockers - when you really get to know them and they are just pussycats. But at the same time, he is going to get into some kind of trouble," she added.

The night before the boat trip with his son, Pitt walked the red carpet for the Australian premiere of his film on Sunday. Pax, however, wasn't in attendance with his father. See photos of Pitt on the red carpet here.

Unlike the film's previous premieres, Jolie didn't accompany Pitt in Australia. The couple walked the red carpet together in London on June 2 and in Berlin on June 4.

Brad has also been touring the U.S. to surprise audiences at the film's screenings. He made stops in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Austin and Los Angeles.

World War Z hits U.S. theaters on June 21.
