Model Kate Upton just turned 21 and spent the big day with her Congressman uncle, Fred Upton (R-Mich.) -- but did she also celebrate with a Dancing With The Stars pro?

Upton was reportedly seen on a likely date Monday night with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, said a report from U.S. Weekly. The two were seen at the fancy Upper East Side Italian restaurant Scalinatella.

"It's very new," a source told the magazine about the alleged new romance, and continued by stating that "they were set up through friends. They just started dating."

An eyewitness at the restaurant also suggested that sparks were flying between Upton and Chmerkovskiy.

"They were very canoodly," this source told the magazine, claiming that the two arrived late into the night and could be seen holding hands at their table.

"It was a very intimate meal," the source continued.

However, representatives for both Upton and Chmerkovskiy have denied any specific romantic ties between them. A source close to Upton even said that they are in fact not dating at all, and that they are merely good friends who have known each other a long time.

Upton has been previously spotted with music mogul Diddy and Cy Young-winning Detroit Tigers pitcher, Justin Verlander.

Chmerkovskiy was once engaged to his fellow Dancing With The Stars professional Karina Smirnoff, but they announced that it had been called off in September 2009. He also appeared on the Ukranian edition of The Bachelor in 2011.

The dancer recently took a break from the popular reality show's 16th season, and last appeared on the show in fall 2012 when he was eliminated 7th while paired with actress Kirstie Alley.

Upton recently appeared on Vogue's June 2013 issue, and she is currently shooting her first starring role for the upcoming film The Other Woman, which also stars Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann. She also appeared in the 2011 film Tower Heist and 2012's The Three Stooges.
