Singer and current The Voice judge Shakira covers the July 2013 issue of Elle, where she raved about her relationship with Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué.

"I know that he's the one person who is with me not because of any interest other than the love than unites us," she told the publication about her footballer boyfriend.

"There's nothing I can offer him beyond my womanhood -- does that word exist in English?"

She also said that being with Piqué has even given her a new connection with her faith, which she had begun to fear was lost. To the singer, God's existence could only be proven through love and missing that love turned her slightly agnostic.

"For a few years, maybe because -- it sounds so corny -- I was not feeling the love like it was supposed to be, I started to think that there was no God," she continued.

"And suddenly I meet Gerard and the sun comes out."

So how do the two stars keep their relationship happy and healthy? The singer said it was important that her boyfriend " has his own world" -- "that's actually one of the healthiest things about the relationship."

The new mother, who gave birth to son Milan in January, also said that she's still trying to reconcile her maternal experiences.

The process has been confusing, but "I have a feeling I will try to do the same for the rest of my life," she said.

"Some people put it like it's very idyllic, some people put it like it's a torturing experience, but it's not quite one thing or the other.  It's like life -- it comes with everything."

The singer announced last month that she would be leaving her current job on TV to return to Spain. She did suggest that in the midst of motherhood, she would be checking back in on her first love of music. The singer's last album, Sale el sol (The Sun Comes Out), came out in 2010 but has no real plan as to how any new project would come together.

"I have no idea of where I want to go musically," the singer said, "but I'm fine that way. I don't need to remain faithful to any concept, you know."

The new July issue hits newsstands on June 25.
