Did A Teddy Bear Lead Selena Gomez To Make Her Instagram Account Private?

Selena Gomez shocked people earlier this week when she suddenly shared a cryptic post with her fans and followers and made her Instagram account private.

While Gomez has since returned to her public account, fans continue to wonder what prompted the odd social media decision. Many are convinced that the "Wolves" singer was upset about a teddy bear and quotes shared by Billboard magazine.

On Dec. 5, Us Weekly shared a report with readers in which they revealed that Gomez appeared to take issue with the way her comments about a teddy bear had been shared in their story.

“Never will I let another human guess my words ever again. Or invite them in my home. That is so hurtful. The most ‘ridiculous’ part of that is no one knowing my heart when I say things,” Gomez wrote in a now-deleted post on her page, which was featured alongside a screenshot of a portion of her Billboard magazine interview.

While Gomez didn't say that her comments were quoted incorrectly, she did suggest that she felt misinterpreted by whoever conducted the interview.

In the interview in question, which took place at Gomez's North Hollywood home, a “five-foot teddy bear” is mentioned.

“It was a gift, and at first I thought, ‘This is so ridiculous, I can’t wait until I give it away to another person,’” Gomez reportedly told the publication.

After Gomez's shocking post was shared, people began to speculate about what may have set her off. As one person said, Gomez likely felt bad after making the comment about giving away the teddy bear because whoever gave her the item would likely hear what she said about it. Another fan said that Gomez likely didn't even say she would give the bear away and was surely upset that the magazine would suggest that she did.

Days prior, Gomez hinted that something was wrong when she told her fans and followers on her Instagram story that she needed some time alone.

As fans will recall, Gomez and Bieber first sparked rumors of a romance after Bieber's vehicle was spotted arriving to her Studio City home. Since then, the couple has been photographed together numerous times in Los Angeles.
