Netflix has just dropped its first official teaser for Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2. The popular streaming site also announced the premiere date for the series starring Krysten Ritter.

Netflix Drops New Trailer, Season 2 Release Date

All 13 episodes of Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2 will be released on March 8, 2018, at exactly 12:01 a.m. Together with the official premiere date,

Netflix also unveiled a 55-second trailer for the second installment of the show.

It opens with Jessica narrating the fact that everyone has secrets. Sometimes, the secrets that people keep are not necessarily their own. In the next scene, Jessica is walking on the streets and taking photos of the people she will investigate.

She breaks into someone's door and attacks an unknown character. She also has a conversation with another man and shares with him some of the questions she gets asked frequently.

"What are you? How did you end up like this? Are you gonna kill me?" said Jessica.

The man she is talking to is surprised to know the kind of questions Jessica gets asked all the time.

Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2 will also explore the lead character's relationship status, as well as her quest in finding out who she really is and where she is from.

A worried Jessica tells her friend that she's unsure learning the truth about herself could make things better.

Live-Action TV-verse

Meanwhile, Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2 is part of Netflix's live-action TV-verse of Marvel's street-level heroes, which includes Luke Cage, Daredevil, and Iron Fist.

All four TV shows are featured in Marvel's The Defenders. All four also paved the way for Netflix to release a fifth franchise, The Punisher.

Moreover, Marvel's Jessica Jones Season 2 will see the return of Patsy Walker (Rachael Taylor), Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), Malcolm Ducasse (Eka Darville), and more.

Two New Characters Confirmed

A slew of new characters will also be introduced in the series. J.R. Ramirez was cast as a series regular in July. The Arrow alum will be giving life to the character of Oscar, a devoted single father who moves into Jessica's apartment. Oscar also works as a superintendent.

"J.R. is an incredible addition to our cast, bringing complex and subtle emotion and humor. He exudes warmth, edge and intelligence, and blends perfectly with our tone," said Melissa Rosenberg, executive producer of Marvel's Jessica Jones.

In April, Janet McTeer was also cast in the second season of the series. The actress will give life to a secret character who will have an enormous impact on Jessica's life.
