Taraji P. Henson has finally confirmed that she’s dating a certain NFL player. Rumors between the star of FOX’s Empire and the professional athlete started to swirl two years ago. Now she’s admitted that they’re true.

It might have taken her two years to confirm, but Henson has dished on her romance with cornerback Kelvin Hayden. She let the phrase “my man” slip out during Essence’s Yes, Girl podcast. Thankfully, for fans who have been itching to know the truth about Henson’s love life, the host circled back to Henson coyly confirming she has a boyfriend.

“I’m very happy,” said Henson. “Everything is coming together. I’m happy in my personal life.” In true Henson form, she belted out into song with CeCe Peniston’s hit "Finally" as she sang, “Finally! It has happened to me.”

Henson also pointed out that blogs such as The Shade Room had already posted news about her romance with Hayden. Considering this, there was really no point in hiding it anymore.

“I’m not the type to blast my personal business,” added Henson. “But, you know, I think that’s important for people to know. I’m happy. I’m very happy. I just am. And you know, we’ve been together for two years. No one would really know that because I don’t really blast my info like that. But I’m very happy.”

Also in the interview, Henson opened up about having a strong support system full of people like family and close friends who love her for who she is and not the star status that she brings to the table. The Hidden Figures star let fans know that “fake love” isn’t something that typically moves her.

There was speculation that they went their separate ways before Henson could even confirm that they were together. Rumors hit that Hayden not only initiated the breakup but also found love with another woman in Chicago.

Sources said Hayden and the alleged new woman lived in Chicago together, while Henson stayed in Los Angeles. Interestingly enough, they said it was Henson’s drama that caused Hayden to dump the successful actress.
