Kevin McKidd has two big reasons to celebrate — he is now a happily married man after tying the knot with his girlfriend Arielle Goldrath. He is also expecting a baby.

McKidd shared the "Very Happy, Very Big News" on his website on Friday. He confirmed that he has married Goldrath and revealed the addition to the family.

"Arielle and I are so happy to announce our marriage and new baby, who is soon to join our growing family," McKidd wrote.

The Grey's Anatomy star also talked about his children's joy at the big news. McKidd shares 15-year-old daughter Iona and 17-year-old son Joseph with ex-wife Jane Parker.

"My kids are happy for us too and are looking forward to the arrival of their newest sibling!" he added.

McKidd married Goldrath in an intimate wedding ceremony attended by close friends and family. The actor's Grey's Anatomy family were at the nuptials too. McKidd said the ceremony was a low-key gathering that ended in a Scottish Ceilidh dance.

The actor honored his native Scotland by wearing a traditional green kilt from designer boutique 21st Century Kilts to the wedding. Meanwhile, Goldrath wore a long-sleeved, floor-length lace bridal grown. A photo from the ceremony shared on the actor's website shows the newlyweds hand in hand as they happily walk down the aisle amid the cheers from the guests.

The 44-year-old Scottish television and film actor married Goldrath, a private chef, earlier this year. The wedding took place at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California. Rabbi Emma Lutz officiated the ceremony.

Married Life

McKidd was previously married to Parker for 17 years. They divorced in December 2016. The exes share joint legal custody of their two kids.

McKidd shares a similar story with his on-screen character from Grey's Anatomy, where he plays trauma surgeon Dr. Owen Hunt. The Trainspotting actor joined the series in its fifth season as a love interest for Sandra Oh's character named Christina Yang. The characters married but eventually divorced before Oh left the series. Hunt later remarried after he found his second love in Amelia Shephard, played by Caterina Scorsone.

McKidd has yet to reveal the gender of his baby with his new wife, Goldrath. Regardless, the actor is genuinely happy and looking forward to what the year will bring to his family.

"There's much to be grateful for and we're thrilled for the adventures 2018 will bring us all!" McKidd concluded his announcement.
