It's happening! Fans of the late R&B songstress Aaliyah will be happy to know that their hard work has paid off.

Aaliyah x Mac Collection

MAC Cosmetics is officially releasing products inspired by the music icon and they will reportedly follow in the footsteps of deceased Tejano music star SelenaMac confirmed the launch of the collection via Twitter on Sunday, April 1, after a fan asked if the collaboration was definitely happening.

On Monday, April 2, MAC teased two products that fans should expect from the collection. One of the items is a coffee shade lipstick, which is reportedly inspired by her 2001 single "We Need A Resolution."

The second product is a nine-piece eyeshadow palette that features warm shades such as golds and browns and light pearlescent hues.

The idea for the collaboration started after fans began petitioning for it on a website called Change.org. The petition was later endorsed by the singer's brother, Rashad Haughton, her close friend, Missy Elliot, and former makeup artist Eric Ferrell. Now the collection will release in June.

Sadly, Aaliyah passed away on Aug. 25, 2001 after she finished recording the music video for her single, "Rock The Boat." The music legend was on board a flight along with members of her record company when the plane crashed shortly after takeoff.

Aaliyah's legacy continues to live on 17 years after her death.
