Mariah Carey has been accused of what no singer wants to be known for - lip-syncing.

The singer wore a glittery white gown and sang the remix to her newest single #Beautiful with Miguel and rapper Young Jeezy at the 2013 BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night. However,, following the performance, many on Twitter accused Carey of not singing live.

"Mariah Carey is a legend....but this lip synching business has to stop," wrote one user after the performance.

"No question that girl Mariah Carey is lip singing," wrote another.

"And the Award for Best Lip Singing of 2013 goes to.... Mariah Carey.. Damn," tweeted another.

Her husband, Nick Cannon, made no indication that Carey would lip sync the song during an interview on the award show's red carpet. Instead, he gushed about his wife and her scheduled performance.

"My wife is a perfectionist and clearly because she's done it right all her life. So she actually puts a lot of work into these performances," the America's Got Talent host told E! Online. "There's no management helping make decisions. Everything you see is all her, whether it's a collaboration when the lights hit, how she enters, she's doing all of that."

This wouldn't be the first time, however, that the 43-year-old was accused of not singing live during a performance. In May, she was once again bashed by Twitter followers who said she was lip synching during the American Idol season 12 finale. During the performance, Carey sang a medley of some of her bigger hits including Hero, Vision of Love, Make it Happen and My AllThe singer's rep quickly denied the allegations and said that Carey "absolutely did not" lip sync and simply sang to a prerecorded track during the episode.

"She performed live in front of several thousands of people," the publicist said at the time, noting that she even performed it three times.
