Helen Mirren offered some honest advice for young troubled stars like Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes during a press interview Monday for her new movie Red 2.

When asked what advice she would give to young starlets like Lohan and Bynes, Mirren quipped, "I don't know if you're allowed to say this on television: Don't be up your own bum."

The interviewer expressed visible surprise at Mirren's honest advice, causing her to laugh before continuing, "People get up their own [bum], and you really don't need to. It's the thing of the young. Just-just don't do that."

Over the years the 67-year-old actress has often discussed what it means to be young and in show business.

"We're all idiots when we're young," she told Esquire in 2011, "We don't think we are, but we are. So we should be." She admitted that being in your twenties can be "frightening."

Mirren added that success is often "a crapshoot," explaining, very often the talented people get lost by the wayside and the people with less talent are successful, and you don't know why."

Lohan and Bynes have both had a troubled few years, both legally and with each other. The pair engaged in a feud in September 2012 after Lohan tweeted, "Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far? +", in reference to Bynes' reckless driving charges. Lohan was arrested the day after her tweet for clipping a pedestrian, and Bynes allegedly told friends that the arrest was "what she gets" and that Lohan is "not cool."

Both Lohan and Bynes have put their acting careers on hold, either due to rehab (Lohan) or of their own choosing (Bynes). Meanwhile, Mirren stars in Red 2, coming out on July 19 in theaters nationwide. She also did voiceover work for Monsters University, which is currently out in theaters.
