Longtime drummer for country artist Kane Brown, Kenny Dixon, tragically died in a car accident on Saturday, October 12. He was only 27 years old.

It's not clear where the disastrous catastrophe took place.

Kane, 25, paid tribute to his late friend in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday.

'Love you so much, dude! You started all of this with me from the start in 2015 when nobody else believes we would make it out of Chattanooga playing for 500 people and your last show was in an Fn Stadium, my guy.

The drummer's death left his family and friends shocked and lost for words.

Dixon's fiancée, Sarah Hendrick, with whom he shares a three-year-old son named Levi James, mourned the death of his almost-husband in the wake of the tragedy. The couple was supposed to wed later this year.

"I'm at a loss of words. I don't even know how to write this or ever thought I would have to. Kenny passed away last night in a car accident. I know I have to be strong for Levi and God is gonna pull us through this."

In an official statement by Kane Brown, he expressed his sadness and disbelief that the drummer has passed away. They consider him as one of the greatest and kindest people on and off stage.

Key Member of the Group

Dixon has been a member of Kane Brown's band since the beginning. He was there when Brown released his first studio album entitled "Kane Brown" on 2016 and "Experiment" on 2018, which topped the Billboard 200 charts.

Brown won 'Male Video of the Year' at the 2019 CMT Music Awards for 'Lose It'. "Heaven" was also nominated for Country Song of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

This Friday, Brown was scheduled to headline the Staples Center in Los Angeles. However, a spokesperson of the band said that they are still working and planning on how to deal with the absence of their critical band member for the upcoming shows.

Speed to Blame in the Car Crash

Speed seems to be the source of a single-car crash in Mid-Tennessee that left the drummer dead, a new report circulated on Monday by state troopers revealed.

Dixon was from Rocky Face, Georgia. He was brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was declared dead on the scene.

In a preliminary report released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Dixon died along Interstate 24 east in Christiana about 40 miles southeast of Nashville. It took place about 12:45 a.m. on Saturday just near mile marker 88.

Dixon was driving a 2016 KIA RIO LX east in the right lane on Intersection 24 at a fast speed when the vehicle exited off the right side of the roadway, about 100 yards. The car then hit a tree head-on.

No criminal charges have been sorted in the case, and drugs and alcohol were ruled out to be factors that led to the crash. There were no other injuries caused by the accident.
