Following the campy phenomenon known as Syfy's Sharknado, the network is reportedly eyeing to do a sequel.

Deadline reports that the cable channel is looking to follow-up the movie, which stars American Pie's Tara Reid and 90210's Ian Ziering.

Reid told TMZ she'd be down for the sequel.

"Why not?" she said. "[The movie] was so ridiculous, you know? Like it's almost so bad that it's good ... I'm just so glad that people saw the humor in it that I did. It's just hilarious."

In the movie, the plot involves a tornado that lifted sharks out of the ocean and deposited them all over Los Angeles.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Thomas Vitale, the executive vice president of programming and original movies at Syfy, was asked about a Sharknado sequel.

"The truth is that this has all happened so quickly. It’s been such a whirlwind day. We’ve had a lot of meetings, emails. I’m not being coy, [but] that’s obviously being talked about," he said. "There may be some kind of announcement coming forth but there’s nothing going to be announced now just because we haven’t had real discussions with the real people we have to talk to about that."

The movie caused a social media frenzy during the movie's premiere Thursday night. According to a Syfy press release, Sharknado clocked 5,000 tweets a minute at its peak.

Among the celebrity Sharknado tweeters, Mia Farrow tweeted a photo of herself with Philip Roth with whom she said she was watching Sharknado.

“Given the enormous popular demand, Syfy will present a special encore presentation,” Syfy announced.

Sharknado will air again on Thursday, July 18 at 7 p.m. ET on Syfy.
