Chris Brown gave fans a preview of his new tune Go To War For Ya on his website The Chris Brown Channel.

"Wrote a song last night," he said in the video uploaded on Thursday. "So here it is."

The topless 24-year-old passionately lip-synced the lyrics as the beat played in the background.

"I'm gonna be your warrior, I'm gonna make sure you're safe with me," he sings on the love song. "Baby, me and you can fly."

Brown also raps on the track.

"What's the point in me having a crown if you ain't got a throne? To be a king you need a queen, now I'm gone," he rhymed.

The R&B star is preparing for the release of his upcoming album X. He debuted the record's latest single Love More, featuring Nicki Minaj, this week. The album's previously released singles, Don't Think They Know, featuring Aaliyah, and Fine China, currently appear on the top ten of the iTunes Top R&B songs chart

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Brown explained the difference between X and his previous albums.

"Making X, I found out who I am," he told the magazine in March. "This album has a lot of substance, from the subject matter and the situations to how it deals with love. It's really derived from personal experiences. Then again, I always like mixing reality with art."

With the upcoming album, Brown also wants to pay homage to artists like Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

"I tried to stay away from the Euro beats, and not go totally pop," he said. "I wanted to put that classic essence of R&B and soul with the new age of music now. There's a lot of live instruments, and a lot less Auto-Tune. I really wanted to demonstrate my vocal ability, creating the vibe of me singing along with a band."

Brown's sixth studio album is expected to be released in August.
